How to create an Excel workbook in Microsoft 365 and get a dynamic QR code

When working with tables, charts, graphs and other data, the Microsoft 365 web service is an indispensable tool. This is where you can make an Excel workbook to organize your information carefully and then freely share the .xlsx file with others using a dynamic QR code.

If you want to make and download a QR code for an Excel workbook, you will first need to create an .xlsx file on the Microsoft 365 service. Next, use the resulting link to add that URL to the QR code, and then distribute your interactive code in the way that suits you best.

Microsoft Excel allows you to create workbooks with one or more sheets, each of which can contain rows and columns filled with data. It is very convenient to work with the program because it has many options for inserts, formulas, and other ways to organize data in a table.

Key benefits of Microsoft 365 Books

Microsoft 365 on the web is a versatile service available for free to all users. Unlike the Microsoft Office suite, you don't need to install the software on your device to create an .xlsx workbook, make changes to it, and more.

To register on the Microsoft 365 platform, simply provide your email and create a password. Once registered, you will immediately receive 5 GB of OneDrive space and the option to create unlimited Excel workbooks.

When you create an Excel workbook on the Microsoft 365 service, it will automatically be saved to cloud storage and accessible via a unique link. This allows you to share your tables by sending other users the link through email, instant messengers, or even more conveniently, through dynamic QR codes.

3 easy steps to make a table in Microsoft 365

To create a workbook in Microsoft 365, follow these instructions:

  • open the web version of Microsoft 365. Launch your browser, go to the link https://www.microsoft365.com/, enter your account login and password;
  • on the main page in the 'Create' section, select the file type 'Excel Workbook'. You will see a blank sheet with various tools for working with data;
  • start entering text, adding charts, inserting tables, using formulas, etc.

Do you want to view or edit previously created .xlsx files? The Microsoft 365 home page includes a toolbar for quick navigation. Click the 'Excel' button to select the workbook you want. If you want to use one of the Microsoft templates, such as a project log or summary list, you can find them here as well.

The next step is to get a QR code for the .xlsx sheet.  Since your workbook in Microsoft 365 already has a unique link, all you need to do is convert that link into a QR code.

  • customize the appearance of your Excel QR code. For example, choose your desired cell color, frame, and add a call to action;
  • click on the 'Create' button to preview your QR code for the workbook;
  • click on the 'Download' button to save the code in the optimal format (PNG, PDF, SVG) and size (1024, 2048, 4096 px), or 'Print' to print it.
